The pyruvate dehydrogenase complex (PDC) catalyzes the conversion of pyruvate to acetyl-
CoA in mitochondria and is a key regulatory enzyme in the oxidation of glucose to acetyl-
CoA. Phosphorylation of PDC by the pyruvate dehydrogenase kinases (PDK2 and PDK4)
