The pregnane X receptor (PXR, also known as SXR) is a nuclear hormone receptor
activated by xenobiotics as well as diverse sterols and their metabolites. PXR functions as a
xenobiotic sensor to coordinately regulate xenobiotic metabolism via transcriptional
