Discussion
We have presented three examples of distinctive progressive, superficial red to purple patches composed of an arborizing network of vessels, histologically demonstrating anomalous lymphatics in the upper dermis, in the absence of any other dermal or deeper lymphatic anomaly. These cases are best considered as a distinct form of superficial LM. The behaviour of the lesions in our patients is consistent with LM as opposed to a vascular malformation; vascular malformations are usually present at birth and remain stable without progression, whereas LMs often challenge this evolution by appearing later in life and continuing to develop and evolve.
