Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) encompasses a spectrum of liver disorders
characterized by abnormal hepatic fat accumulation, inflammation, and hepatocyte
dysfunction. Importantly, it is also closely linked to obesity and the metabolic syndrome.
