A novel compound MS-444was isolated from the culture broth of a bacterial strain KY7123.
Thestrain wasidentified as Micromonosporasp. fromits morphological andcultural
characteristics. Thecompoundinhibited the activity of purified smoothmuscle myosinlight
chain kinase with an IC50 value of 10 fiM. The production, isolation, physico-chemical
properties and biological activities of MS-444were described in this paper.
