BAL cellularity and lymphocyte immunophenotyping offer insights into lung inflammatory
status. Natural killer (NK) cells are efficient effector cells, producing pro-inflammatory
cytokines. A better understanding of the biology of NK cells in BAL in the lungs is necessary
