We previously implicated tumor necrosis factor-α converting enzyme (TACE/ADAM17) in the
processing of the integral membrane precursor to soluble transforming growth factor-α (TGF-
α), pro-TGF-α. Here we examined TGF-α processing in a physiologically relevant cell model,
