The Journal of Pediatrics, 1955•ElsevierA case of apparently spontaneous chylothorax occurring in the newborn period is presented.
Only six similar cases are recorded in the literature, death having occurred in three. This
patient had a very benign course and recovered completely. Treatment should be
conservative since spontaneous recovery may occur; thoracentesis should be performed
only for relief of respiratory distress once a diagnosis is made.
