Chronic lymphocytic leukemia is characterized by the accumulation of functionally abnormal,
monoclonal B lymphocytes in the peripheral blood, bone marrow, lymph nodes and spleen,
resulting in a reduction count of normal immunocompetent cells and their impaired immune
