BACKGROUND:: Abdominal pain/discomfort, bloating, and constipation are gastrointestinal
dysmotility and sensory symptoms associated with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). No
studies have followed patients with IBS symptoms for 1 year under conditions of routine
