Liver X receptor (LXR) activation promotes reverse cholesterol transport (RCT) in rodents
but has major side effects (increased triglycerides and LDL-cholesterol levels) in species
expressing cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP). In the face of dyslipidemia, it remains
