Background: Difficulty adapting to high-fat (HF) and highcarbohydrate (HC) diets may
predispose children to obesity and diabetes. Objective: We tested the hypothesis that
children have metabolic flexibility to adapt to HF and HC diets. Design: In protocol 1, 12
