The concentration of transferrin in human amniotic fluid was measured by single radial
immunodiffusion. In the 52 amniotic fluid samples studied, the mean transferrin
concentration was 29.9 mg. per 100 ml. and was not observed to vary greatly during
gestation. Significant differences occurred between the mean values of gestational age
groups with respect to early and late third trimester. In nine patients on whom serial
