BACKGROUND: Three novel polyomaviruses have been recently discovered: KI, WU and
MC polyomaviruses. Their role in human pathology is debated while tissue tropism and site
of latency remain unknown. OBJECTIVE: To test the hypothesis that KI, WU and MC
