Sirtuins are evolutionarily conserved nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+)-dependent
lysine deacylases or ADP-ribosyltransferases. These cellular enzymes are metabolic
sensors sensitive to NAD+ levels that maintain physiological homeostasis in the animal and
plant cells.
Abstract
