Rapid progress has been made recently in the definition of growth hormone (GH) receptor
signal transduction pathways. It is now apparent that many cytokines, including GH, share
identical or similar signalling components to exert their cellular effects. This review provides
a brief discourse on the signal transduction pathways, which have been demonstrated to be
utilized by GH. The identification of such pathways provides a basis for understanding the
