Background Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common complication after cardiac surgery,
recently, several biomarkers have been used to facilitate early detection of AKI, including
Neutrophil-gelatinase-associated-lipocalin (NGAL) and Kidney-injury-molecule-1 (KIM-1).
