MATERIALS AND METHODS Forty-five consecutive organ donors were studied in two
groups. In group 1 (n 15) living donation renal transplants and in group 2 (n 30) cadaveric
renal transplants were investigated. Blood was taken from the donor before and immediate
after organ harvesting. During the back-table preparation, all kidneys were ffushed with 250
mL Ringer's lactate, and samples were taken at the beginning and after 250-mL ffush.
