Publisher Summary Viruses—especially enteroviruses—are major etiological agents in
clinical myocarditis and dilated cardiomyopathy. Indeed, presence of viral RNA in heart
biopsies is a negative prognostic indicator, as mortality rates in these individuals are
significantly higher than in patients having virus-negative biopsies. Most likely, many
