Background Dermatopontin (DP), a small extracellular matrix protein, interacts with both
fibrinogen and fibrin. DP accelerates fibrin fibril formation and enhances cell adhesion to
fibrin fibrils but DP does not influence fibrinogen fibril formation. We have previously
