BACKGROUND: Medications can modulate the results of skin prick tests (SPTs). Short-term
corticosteroid therapy does not alter IgE-mediated skin tests, but the impact of long-term oral
corticosteroid therapy on SPT results is unclear. A prospective study was carried out in
