MATERIALS AND METHODS Materials Indole-3-carbinol (I3C), propionic acid, amphotericin
B, trehalase and RNase A were purchased from the Sigma Chemical Co.(St. Louis, MO,
USA). Stock solutions of I3C and amphotericin B were prepared in dimethyl sulfoxide
(DMSO), and solutions of propionic acid were prepared in sterile distilled water and stored at
20 C. For all the experiments, a final concentration of 1% DMSO was used as the solvent
carrier.
